The 2026 season is set to be another engaging year at the lake, featuring music, parades, BBQs, craft events and pickleball tournaments. We wish to express sincere appreciation to the owners who have volunteered to dedicate their time and effort in making this another successful season at Akiskinook.
Entertainment Lead
We extend our gratitude to Leticia Hughes for assuming the role of entertainment committee lead for 2026.
Music in the Park
Cathy has successfully arranged performances by talented musicians throughout the year, scheduled from May to September.
Family Bar-B-Qs
Phil Conway and Mark Ambrose will coordinate the family Bar-B-Q events. Their ongoing support and leadership in organizing these activities over the past years are highly valued by the community.
Kids’ Bike Parade
Kristin Merrett, whose ongoing involvement in Akiskinook events is greatly appreciated, has agreed to oversee and organize this year’s Kids’ Bike Parade. The event will provide a memorable afternoon for participating children, and we thank Kristin for her commitment.
July Long Weekend Pickleball
Jeff Parry and Kathleen Shannon have kindly agreed to host this well-attended event.
World PickleBall Championship
Liz and Kurt Pedersen are acknowledged for their long-standing efforts in scheduling and arranging this prominent tournament (Kurt’s words}, which is slated for the long weekend in September. The championship promises to deliver a competitive and enjoyable experience.
Craft Events with Joanna Shea:
- an Easter craft event at the rec center
- a Canada Day rock painting outdoors
- a Thanksgiving craft event at the rec center

Further information regarding times and locations will be posted on the Akiskinook website. In addition, Cathy will distribute regularly scheduled email updates to all members to ensure everyone remains well informed.
